The most recent JNLR survey to include statistics on DAB ownership in Ireland shows 20% or 344,000 Irish households already own a DAB receiver. This far exceeds the number of Radio Player app downloads.
Ownership is evenly spread between sex, age group and location.
Our proximity to the world’s leading DAB market in the UK, and the blossoming EU market, means many radios sold in Ireland today already include DAB. This will become compulsory for car radios and potentially all radios from Q4 this year when the EU digital radio mandate takes effect.
